INSIDE KATHLEEN ROBERTSONS MUSIC
How it all begins
"I was eager to learn the guitar in primary school, so I did. I never took up piano lessons as it would be too expensive. However, this didn't stop me from learning the piano, I self taught myself. I would use my lunch times at school to go and practice the piano. I then carried out my musical abilities to high school where I could actually study music's history and theoretical matters. I was gradually becoming better at my music.I was becoming more aware of the earth and peoples mannerisms which I converted my ideas and thoughts onto paper, then turning those words in melodies. I knew from a young age I wanted to be a good musician. I began gigging more when I was in High School , touring around local villages and taking part in talent shows. "

I had a band in high school around the beginning of 2013. It was a great experience and actually had some success. We won a competition in the highlands to record an EP via big barn session, isles of skye. It enabled me to work with other people's thoughts and ideas. It also was a benefit as I could have more instruments placed in my songs. I worked alongside a lot of musicians from different genres of music such as traditional , alternative, folk and pop. This was the beginning of recognition for me.
Come 2017, I applied for college to study music. I wanted to gain more knowledge on the business side of being a musician and to further my knowledge in general on becoming a successful artist. My musical style and my vocal skill developed through studying Music HNC performance in Scotland. I feel like I am only going to keep improving my music and composition work. My contribution within the music scene is important to me. One of the reasons I was put on this earth was to create music and show the world my abilities of creating compositions and melodies."
2018 brought a lot to Kathleen Robertson music by giving her the chance to perform at one of Argylls biggest
music festivals in Scotland. Headlining alongside acts such as Hermitage Green, Sons of Argyll and Skerryvore at oban live. Kathleen received press coverage from local news, bbc alba television and social media hype. Her three track performance on the big stage ' wowed' the public according to the oban times. What makes kathleen's music so special, is the fact she connects with her inner ' old soul' when performing, leaving you feeling rather content or emotional after she has delivered a song. Not all musicians can do that, so to say. Although kathleen hasn't got the biggest social media following or fan base, for her, it really is just about doing what she's good at, creating powerful music for people to listen to.
AUSTRALIA
DITTO DISTRIBUTIONS, INDEPENDENT ARTISTS.
Kathleen is currently based in Australia ( 2018) where she sets out her travels for more influence and creation of music. After her oban live success, kathleen had the notation to produce and release her very own album to the public, with help , of her now new label distributor ' DITTO' . Creating a 10 track based album called ' Parliament of fools' was one of kathleen's most creative pieces of work, so far. The album was produced mainly in australia, all by kathleen's own hands. However two tracks were recorded and produced back in kathleen's country, scotland, isles of skye. Working with DITTO independent labels for artists led to a VEVO music channel, spotify, Itunes and many other professional distributor releases for her album. The album is haunting, poetic yet peaceful. The tracks all contain creativity and a sense of independence. Kathleen's track ' Merchant Stone' reached over 5K views in just under a week of release on her vevo channel. 'Merchant stone' has made A & R Factories front page with a stunning review. Kathleen's music will keep on developing. Who knows what she'll create in the future, if at nineteen she is already creating unforgettable tracks?
